Basketball - Philippines' Road To Rio Olympics

Philippine National Basketball Coach Tab Baldwin and his coaching staff named the fourteen (14) man pool who will join the camp in Europe. These are Fajardo, Pingris, Abueva, Blatche, Castro, Romeo, Norwood, Aguilar, Chan, Ocampo, Rosario, Parks, Reyes and Tenorio. The team will leave today (Friday). 

After their intensive tune-up games in Europe, they will select only 12 players for the Rio qualifying tournament which is divided into three qualifying tournaments - Manila, Belgrade and Turin. Only the top team from the three qualifying tournaments will advance in  Rio Olympics. 

Manila Qualifying tournament will feature six (6) teams - Turkey, Senegal and Canada in Group A while Group B is composed of France, New Zealand and host Philippines.
Matches will start on July 5 between Turkey and Canada in Group A. While Philippines will start their campaign against powerhouse France. On July 6, Canada will play against Senegal and on the other side, host Philippines versus New Zealand. The last day of Group Preliminary round (July 7), it will be Senegal against Turkey and France against New Zealand. 

Semi Final round will resume on July 9 while the finals is set on July 10.

Rules for classification: 1) Points; 2) Head-to-head results; 3) Points difference; 4) Points scored
