The 1st ASEAN Deaf Football Championship (ADFC) was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from December 4 to December 10. It was participated by seven (7) Southeast Asian teams.
The seven team-nations were divided into two groups. Group A was composed of Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos and Thailand. While Group B was composed of host Malaysia, Myanmar and Vietnam.
In the group stage phase, Thailand was on top of Group A with 9 points followed by Indonesia with 6 points. For Group B, it was Malaysia who topped the group with 6 points while Vietnam settled second among the three-team group with 3 points. (See: Group Stage Fixtures and Scores below)
On the semi-finals, Group A winner Thailand battled Group B's runner-up Vietnam while Group B winner Malaysia battled Group A runner-up winner Indonesia.
As for the results of the semi-finals, Thailand defeated Vietnam with a commanding 4-0 win. On the other semi-final, Malaysia outscored Indonesia, 10-1.
The finals between Thailand and host Malaysia saw the superb talents of both teams wanting to win the first edition of the ASEAN Deaf Football Championship.
In the end, Thailand showed their supremacy on the field beating host Malaysia, 3-1.
Brunei, Philippines and Singapore withdrew to participate on the said tournament.
