Indonesia Thinks Bigger after SEA Games 2017

Indonesia starts intensifying the training of its athletes who will compete at the Kuala Lumpur Southeast Asian Games this coming August.

However, a maximum of 250 athletes is reportedly to be sent at the biennial meet in Malaysia.

This number is half of the number of athletes they sent at the 2015 Singapore SEA Games.

Indonesia this time is not setting any medal target for the games. At the 2015 SEA Games, the Red and White flag settled at 5th place over-all with 47 golds, 61 silvers and 74 bronze medals.

According to its Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs Imam Nahrawi, the idea is prepare Indonesian athletes for the Asian Games which Indonesia will be hosting and for the 2020 Olympics in Japan.

Nevertheless, despite no targets, Minister of Youth and Sports Affair has said that he will give bonuses to all athletes who wins medals at the SEA Games.
