2017 SEABA Championship Moved

The 2017 Southeast Asian Basketball Association (SEABA) Championship is to be held on May 12 to 18 instead of the scheduled April and to be hosted by the Philippines.

The tournament is a qualifying event for the 2017 FIBA Asia Cup to be held in Beirut, Lebanon on August 17 to 27. Only one ticket  is at stake for the Southeast Asian zone in this SEABA championship.

Seeing action on May's tourney are teams from Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and host favorite Philippines.

The venue of the SEABA championship is at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. There were two choices of venues before, the other one not chosen was Cebu.    
Host Philippines has named its initial 24-man pool for the championship and will be trimmed in the days to come. While other teams are also in the selection process while training for big event on May.
